Toronto Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting Against the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder contributed to the Houston Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.

Canada's MLB team advanced to their initial World Series after 1993 by overcoming the Seattle Mariners in the final Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.

Down three runs to one, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run home run in the seventh frame, propelling the Toronto squad in MLB to a four games to three triumph in the best-of-seven series. They will now face the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the defending champions, in the anticipated Fall Classic.

"It's incredible for our team, the city, the nation," Springer stated, an integral part of the Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "What an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now slugged twenty-three October home runs, ranking him third all-time trailing only Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).

"It's hard to imagine another person on planet Earth that I want up in that spot other than Springer with his post-season brilliance," said Schneider.

Seattle's team, despite leading the early in the series, are still the one club that has never reached in a World Series.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "there's no question that it's going to sting" following his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but applauded their work in the campaign.

"It's a special team. It's a shame that we ended up on the unsuccessful side of this game," he continued.

The Blue Jays secured the title on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on the upcoming Friday.
