The Porcine Pardon: Pig Named Six Seven Spared by Miami Dade County Leader.

It might not have been at the identical stature as granting clemency to festive fowl, but the mayor of Miami-Dade conducted a Donald Trump moment this week by formally pardoning the life of a pig named Six Seven.

Daniella Levine Cava performed the seasonal stunt at the Cuban-themed Latin Cafe 2000 in the heart of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood.

“This pig is innocent. She is worthy of this pardon. She has committed zero crimes,” declared Levine Cava in a speech with inescapable allusions to the vast quantity of pardons issued from the start of the commencement of a new presidential term.

“If we disregard eating half a dozen apples per day,” the mayor added. “I hope she experiences a long and happy life away from worry.”

The event, which both honors and questions the area's customary feast of consuming swine during the holidays, was created to replicate the yearly bird sparing at the White House.

The pig, provided by a Coral Gables firefighter, was christened after the modern linguistic fad of young people shouting “six-seven” – originating from a musical verse – often seemingly at random. The trend became so ubiquitous that a major dictionary recently declared “six-seven” its 2025 word of the year.

A Peaceful Retirement

Six Seven the pig is now set to enjoy its days at a farm sanctuary “far from charcoal and roasting pans”, according to the ceremony's official statement.

“This swine clemency has become a beloved tradition to begin the holiday season,” said the cafe owner, in a notably cheerful message.

“It captures the spirit of Miami: happy, diverse, and based in heritage that bring people together. Each year, we are proud to celebrate heritage and mercy in a way only Miami can.”

Participants enjoyed a vegetarian menu of croquettes and Cuban coffee as they celebrated the swine's new lease on life.
