Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
