I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly proceeding.
